These CPLA Kits include wrapped knives, forks, andspoons are made from renewable CPLA or modified corn-based plastic materials. Durable, they have a sturdy feel and are ideal for high heat applications. They are FDA approved for food contact and can be used to serve up both hot and cold dishes. CPLA cutlery can withstand temperatures up to 185° F (85° C). These kits meet ASTM D6400 and/or D6868 for compostability.

Material Properties

PLA (Poly-Lactic Acid) is made of corn or plant starch extract.

While CPLA is created for higher heat use products since PLA has a low melt point with heat resistance only up to 40ºC or 105ºF.

* Biodegradable and Compostable under commercial composting facilities.

Material Properties

Thespoon in CPLA material is very strong and heat-resistant up to 80 degrees. Moreover, we even made a test by putting it into boiling waters which is around 90-100 degrees for 15-20 seconds while turning it around, it doesn’t deform at all.
